Huechulafquen Lake, Paimún and Lanín Volcano

Departure at 9:00 a.m. from San Martín de los Andes. You visit Junín de los Andes and the Laura Vicuña church, the mouth of the Chimehuín River, and Lake Huechulafquen with Lanín Volcano in the background throughout. Along the lakeshore you enter the Andean-Patagonian forest, lunch at a countryside restaurant run by the Mapuche community, and continue on Route 61 to Lake Paimún, the lakeside chapel, and a forest of thousand-year-old araucarias at the foot of Lanín. Return at 6:00 p.m.
